A human rights protestor, described as a Western-looking man with dark hair and in his early twenties, has been detained by UK police after he threw his shoe at Prime Minister Wen Jiabao while he was delivering a speech at Cambridge University.According to the Times, the young man blew a whistle as Premier Wen was about to wrap up his speech, shouting:
“How can the university prostitute itself with this dictator? How can you listen to these lies?”
As he was being hauled out of the crowded auditorium by university security staff,he yelled to the audience:
“Stand up and protest, you're not challenging him.”
Audience members, many of whom appear to be Chinese as far as we can tell from this video uploaded by one of them, retorted "Shame on you!Shame on you!" As the excitement subsided,a very calm and collected Premier Wen said to loud applause before continuing with his speech:
"老师们,同学们,这种卑鄙的伎俩阻挡不了中英两国人民的友谊."
"This despicable behaviour cannot stand in the way of friendship between China and the UK,"

The insult mimicked that of an Iraqi journalist who hurled his shoe at George Bush while the American President was speaking in Baghdad.
The shoe landed a metre away from Premier Wen Jiabao, who is on a five day tour to Europe which has been dogged by free-Tibet demonstrations.
The protestor screamed: "This is a scandal."
He was then bundled out of the concert hall by university security staff.
As he was dragged out he shouted: "How can the university prostitute itself with this dictator?"
