而reason是一个动作、决定、或信仰的依据或动机.
给你几个例子看你能不能感觉出不同：

2.This is the single most important reason for believing in God.
3.There are substantial grounds to believe that a crime has been committed.
4.We have reasonable grounds to believe that the child is not receiving proper care.
从上面的例子看,reason多指的是动机或主观依据,而grounds多指事实依据.
所以选A
因为之间没有定冠词，所以如果是可数名词就要用复数。
A中的grounds不是ground的复数，就是一个单词，意为根据，理由，
B中的reason可数需用复数，故排除，
C中的cause意为原因，可数需用复数，故排除，
