题目：Why People Study for High Degrees
As a saying goes,knowledge is everything.This is self-evident that people study for high degrees nowadays in order to have a better life in both the material world and the spiritual world.
The first and most obvious cause is for the material world.In people’s whole lifetime,they have to support their own families-not only take care of their parents but also their children.Those who study for high degrees generally think the higher degrees they get,the better jobs they will get,the better jobs they will get,the better life they will live.They think that they will have more money than others to live in a luxurious house,to buy private cars,to send their kids to elite schools and so on.
The second and vital cause that most people do not easily confess is for the spiritual world.People’s desire to better life is undeniable,but what’s the motive of their desire?Personally speaking,it is because of the quest of their spiritual world.If they have got higher degrees and live a better life than others,they are in the “upper class”.The social groups they are in are intellects.They will feel that they are in much higher status than the average people like farmers,vendors or house cleaners etc.There is a sub-consciousness in people’s mind that “my high degree helps my superiority over you”.Some people admit this,but some do not.And yet this sub-consciousness exists in our mind.
As mentioned above,there are two causes for people’s studying for high degrees:for the material world and the spiritual world,and at the same time,the latter is the cause of the former.
